MYCROMAG

For all my blog loving friends, Sonny Groo, also known as Abdul Lagerfeld (who was famously captured by Jak & Jil along with some of his team), has just launched the first issue of his online magazine - Mykromag.

In black and white, it may look clean and simple, but it's full of inspirational and intriguing material.

Alongside profiles with industry figures, such as Simon Robins - fashion director of Russian Vogue - are shoots and interviews with up-and-coming designers such as Toon Geboers, currently a student at the Royal Academie of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

And as for the drawings by Singapore based Dinie Rahman and Ridhwan Sesapar you'll be frequenting the site as much as moi!

Miles Aldridge's life story borders on parody: son of the famous art director Alan Aldridge, he grew up surrounded by musicians and Pop artists - the kind of kid, apparently, who was met at the school-gates by Eric Clapton.  Nowadays he's a top-class fashion photographer, complete with supermodel wife.  His big idea is that the real world just isn't pretty enough, so, to rectify that, his images are consistently high gloss, high artifice and most of all, high colour.  His signature use of punchy acidic hues deliberately references his cinematic heroes Sirk and Fellini.  As a result his stills of bored housewives and rich bitches are intensified eye-candy - and delightfully morbid.
